Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Inc., (GBB) has been appointed Receiver. GBB is a national solid waste management consulting firm with extensive experience with solid waste collection, processing, recycling and disposal issues, including those specific to island communities.
As Receiver, GBB’s objective is to work with Guam’s government, the Solid Waste Management Division, solid waste companies, the people of Guam, and the U.S. military to establish a long-term, financially viable and sustainable waste management system for Guam.
The federal receiver is watching the time literally. Gershman, Brickner & Bratton has the Government of Guam on a ticking clock to show how many days are left for
the Ordot dump to meet its capacity. A counter which was added today is featured on the GBB web site to serve as a reminder that the days are ticking by for GovGuam to comply with the consent degree to close the dump and open a new landfill. The countdown to the Ordot closure is featured on the website and will change every day it gets closer to the opening of the landfill. In case you're counting the counter says we have 906 days left.
